I spent the day today with family at Chadstone Shopping Centre located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. It was so wonderful to spend the day with some of the wonderful people in my life. Walking around the ever-expanding mall while enjoying my families silliness and contagious humour was enjoyable. It tends to amaze me how exhausting it can be spending the day at a shopping mall, going back and forth between stores from one end of the double story mall to the other with excited teenagers can be fun, but it can also be rather tedious. When one of the girls decided she wanted to go back to Sportsgirl when we were on the other side of the mall, I was kicking myself for not wearing my sneakers. All I could think about was my fridge magnet at home – “Shopping is my Cardio!” hmmm.
After my daughter and I said our goodbyes we headed back through the boisterous crowd towards the exit at David Jones. As we walked along the mall we passed the recently opened Victorias Secret store. Dance music, sparkly gifts and gorgeous staff all made up the stores pizzaz. Now, if you have been to New York, you will know that what is offered here in Australia is only a small percentage of what is available in the U.S. Over in the states, Victorias Secret is Americas largest retailer of lingerie, womenswear and beauty products. Most of their stores showcase lingerie in every fashion imagined, however the only items available here in Australia seem to be limited panties and beauty products.
Victorias Secret in Chadstone is evident of their limited exports, however this has not stopped men and women flocking to the mini store to smell fragrances and watch the latest Victoria Secret fashion show on the big flat screen. Yes….you can stand with all the other men and women along the mall railing and watch Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio strut their stuff on the big screen along the back wall. I have to hand it to the V-S marketing team, they sure do know how to draw a crowd 😉
I have to admit, I had a bit of a chuckle walking past some of the men. One guy leaning against the railing was so completely mesmerised by the show on the back wall, he’s face was rather comical. His head hung forward on his shoulders, his eyes were droopy and his jaw was so slack he should have been drooling. To say he looked smitten would be an understatement. Something tells me he will be a regular to that store 😉 Maybe Chadstone could invest in bench seats….lol
I didn’t wander in for a look yesterday however I have been in the store a few times since it opened. Even though it doesn’t compare to the multi level stores in the US, it is still a great place to go for fragrant gift sets, scented candles, body lotions and hand creams or even a makeup case. With all the frilly bows, fluff and glitter their is something to please everyone. So for the guys out their, if you are trying to think of an intimate gift for a loved one, I don’t think you could do wrong with a sexy little gift from Victorias Secret.
