Now unless you have been hiding under a rock, you would have heard on the radio Maroon 5’s latest release from their fabulous fifth studio album V. A super mix of funky pop that has a touch of soul, ‘Sugar’ is a catchy song that no matter how hard you try (like why would you?) you find yourself singing along by the second chorus.
Now I love Maroon 5, their music just fits any mood you’re in and any occasion you are having. A bbq with friends, just plug your iPod into your stereo and be entertained by the boys catchy music and sensational ballads. Feel like something more uptempo….no worries. Push play on your music list and be taken away on a rollercoaster ride of upbeat songs that have you thrusting your hips in no time 🙂 No matter the occasion, the guys from Maroon 5 will be sure to keep you captivated and entertained.
Saturday mornings are a time that I would normally catch up on the latest music, or when I want a break from reading late at night I will plug in my headphones and check out the top plays on iTunes. So naturally, it wasn’t long before I noticed the video clip. I had already downloaded the album via the iTunes store, so hearing the song played last Saturday morning from my flat screen tv – they had my attention. Watching lead singer Adam Levine and band members Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, Matt Flynn and PJ Morton exit the brick building and jump into two convertibles, I was ready for a great song. As the boys arrived at the Park Plaza Hotel ‘Sugar’ starts to play. As the crew begin erecting drop down sheets, family members in the function room become alarmed and question the workers as to what is going on?…
“I’m hurting baby, I’m broken down, I need your loving, I need it now”……and so the story begins. The grammy award winners are shown during the course of the video clip “crashing” various wedding’s across LA, playing their latest hit to bride and grooms across the city. Its a great video clip to watch, however many people have taken to social media to question the authenticity of the footage. From what I have been able to ascertain, from hours of reading many different news articles online, about half of what you see was real. I don’t have a problem with that – in fact I was surprised that any of the footage was real. The guys have reached a level of superstardom than only a small handful of recording artists achieve. Can you imagine trying to keep a plan like that under wraps? Aha – you see my point. Also, the video footage and angles shot could only have been achieved by lots of planning….no surprises in that.
So a few happy couples across L.A got to have their wedding receptions crashed by Maroon 5 – I should be so lucky. Watching one of the brides mouth “W.T.F….” honey – I would have said more than that! What would have been your reaction to Maroon 5 playing their latest hit to you, your closet friends and family? What would have been your response?
At the time I viewed Maroon 5’s Sugar video clip on Vevo, it had already seen 69,722,645 views – now thats an effort. Youtube had 71, 265, 407 views. Now thats another great effort guys! I guess there are a lot of people who either like Maroon 5, the video clip – or both 🙂 If you have been one of the very few who have not seen it, have a peek at the clip below. Enjoy…
