Jupiter Ascending Movie Review

It’s not necessarily a romantic movie, but a date night movie most definitely. Now I don’t know about you guys but I have been waiting a while for this movie to finally hit cinemas here in Australia. After pushing back the release date several times, Warner Brothers have finally released the movie for our viewing delight.

Featuring the delectable Channing Tatum and gorgeous new mum Mila Kunis, Jupiter Ascending is a tale of an unlucky young cleaning woman named Jupiter (Kunis) and an interplanetary warrior called Caine (Tatum) whose goal it is to return the missing heir to her rightful place in the cosmos. Jupiter’s genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that if not returned to her rightful place, could alter the balance of power in the galaxy.

Jupiter Ascending is the latest film to be directed by the Wachowskis, Lana and Andrew. They are well known for their sci fi thriller series The Matrix (1999), The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions (both in 2003).  The siblings have also received critical acclaim for writing and producing V For Vendetta (2006), Speed (2008) and Cloud Atlas (2012). With such great fantasy/sci fi movies in their vault I am hoping Jupiters Ascending will be just as great.

I have been reading critic reviews and well honestly, I don’t want to read anymore. Some say its awful, some say the gags miss their mark. If you would like to know what the The New York Times or The Hollywood Reporter would like to say, then CLICK HERE. Personally, I really want to see it for myself. As soon as I have the opportunity and get to the nearest cinema, I will post my review.

Until then, have a peek at the trailer for Jupiter Ascending.
