There are times in my life when I realise that my body just isn’t the same anymore. Take for example this afternoon. I was laying on my bed just chilling out, going through my Twitter feed, when I came across a ‘tweet’ from author Elisabeth Naughton. “Hilarious!!! If you loved When Harry Met Sally, you’ll love this.” Hmmm… ok… I was curious, so I clicked on the link.
FU**…..within seconds I was closing my legs together real tight! I haven’t watched something that damn funny in a long time! Mitchell walked past our bedroom door and just froze “You ok?!!” he said. I must have been a sight… hand on my crutch, laughing my head off. All I could do was say “Twitter”. I don’t think he believed me. The next thing that came out of his mouth was “Do you want some privacy?” I had to pause what I was watching, get my breath back and tell him to come in. After he lay down next to me, I started the clip back at the beginning. Soon we were both in hysterics, and thankfully I wasn’t the only one doubling over.
Now that your curious, have you ever wondered what happened to Harry and Sally? We know that by the end of the hit romantic comedy they ended up together, but then what? Did they have kids, did they stay in New York, did Harry ever tire of the fact that it took Sally an hour and a half to order a sandwich? Well, as I found out today, the Emmy-winning comedy video website and film/TV production company founded by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy – Funny or Die published a fake trailer of the hit romantic movie in 2011! Yeh, you read that correctly – 2011… and I saw it for the first time today. Nevertheless, it didn’t stop me from replaying the clip several times, until I couldn’t laugh anymore.
Funny or Die did a wonderful job on their “fake trailer” for “When Harry Met Sally 2.” They even got Billy Crystal to re-enact his role as Harry! Throw in a few celebrities such as Helen Mirren (who played Sharon as Sally has long-since died), Rob Reiner, Rob Riggle, Maya Rudolph, Mike Tyson and Adam Scott and you have one hell of a side splitting comedy. I wont give anymore away, but I do recommend visiting the bathroom before you watch the clip on Youtube. Oh, and here’s a bit of trivia: the video was directed by former Daily Show producer, actress and daughter of Billy Crystal, Lindsay Crystal. Enjoy…
