Appealed by Emma Chase

Omg, Emma Chase has one hell of a sense of humour! Damn girl, it’s a shame I live on the other side of the planet, because you would be a scream to catch up with. I don’t know if you are this funny in real life, but if you are, I commend you. There simply isn’t enough humour in our lives these days, and it took your book to remind me of that. So thank you!! 🙂 Ok …the book.

Appealed, by Emma Chase – it is a grab your belly, shake your head, hold onto your knickers story that will leave you feeling all kinds of wonderful. Both of the main characters – Brent and Kennedy will leave you frustrated, annoyed, bewildered, ecstatic and damn hor** – thank you Emma 🙂 but you will be so glad you read their story.

Both Brent and Kennedy come from wealthy families. Not comfortable, not doing a bit better than your average Joe, I’m talking stinking filthy rich! Butlers, nannies, sports cars, balls and private schools kind of wealthy. Though there is that old saying “money can’t buy happiness” and in Kennedy’s case, those words couldn’t be more true. Kennedy’s mother is an overbearing snob! To put it nicely – I didn’t like her…at all! Ridiculing her daughter at every opportunity annoyed me. I wanted to jump into the story and defend Kennedy. Don’t get me wrong, Kennedy is far from a door mat. In fact I would go as far as saying she is one hell of a tough cookie. But her mother is one hell of a player, and well, you have to read the story to find out how that situation gets worked out!

When I first started reading Appealed, I thought Brent was a bit of an arrogant ass. He had major tickets on himself! If he wore a t-shirt that read “I’m so good, just ask me” I wouldn’t have been surprised. But the more I read, the more I understood his character. He actually has a lot of respect for Kennedy, and a lot of love. Their ‘coming together’ has been nothing more than mixed messages and interfering busy bodies. He is such a goof ball, he has the funniest sense of humour and such a big heart. This story is about discovering you don’t have to settle for second best, and that love was right under their noses – the whole time.

Do you need to read the first couple of books in the series to understand what is going on? Thankfully no, you don’t. But, now that I have read Appealed, I want to go back and read the first book, Sustained. If you want to find out what Brent and his business partners are like, download a copy today. You won’t be disappointed 🙂

Amazon Premise –

The New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled books returns with the third standalone romance in the Legal Briefs series, a collection of sexy novels about first crushes, second chances, and the final verdict of the heart.

When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate–and prized–parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Louboutins.

When Kennedy looks at Brent, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school in order to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell for her.

But she’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore–she’s a Washington, DC, prosecutor with a long winning streak. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case, and Kennedy thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.

But things aren’t exactly working out the way she planned. Brent has his sights set on Kennedy, and every fiery exchange only makes him want her more–and makes her wonder if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. In the end, they may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.
