Nickelbacks New Heartfelt Song Is On Fire

Nickelback has released a new song and I love it! In fact the song, which is aptly called Song on Fire is playing on my Mac right now. It’s a good thing you can’t hear me singing, trust me… my neighbours dog is making the strangest of noises. I think he is protesting my vocal abilities 🙂 I am listening to the lyrics and they are so sad yet so sweet at the same time. I wonder what his ex thinks of it?

Lead singer Chad Kroeger separated from his wife, singer songwriter Avril Lavigne back in September 2015 after only two years of marriage. But after listening to this song at least a half-dozen times, I think it would be safe to say he still loves her. You only have to listen to the first verse to understand how he feels. Even though he is trying to move on, he can’t help but write such beautiful songs “about you”. Awwwww, Chad you big muffin!!

“I write lines down, then rip them up, describing love can’t be this tough” The guy really is putting everything on the line, telling the world how he feels. I wonder if it is one last attempt to win back the love of his life? Avril would have to have heard the song by now. I wonder what she thinks? I would love to be a fly on her wall 🙂 Maybe they are back together, or working things out nonetheless. I guess time will tell.

I was about to wrap up this article when my curiosity got the better of me. I did some investigating of my own and looked into both Chad and Avril Twitter accounts. Hmmm, what did I find? Not much, just this….

Oh… and this….

Maybe we will get to find out more soon. Here’s hoping these two find love and happiness and get to share a little of it with us. In the meantime, Nickelback’s new heartfelt track Song on Fire can be found on iTunes. Their new album Feed the Machine is scheduled for release here in Australian via iTunes on the 16th of June. Make sure to get your copy.

“Song On Fire” – lyrics

The first words that come out
And I can see this song will be about you
I can’t believe that I can breathe without you
But all I need to do is carry on
The next line I write down
And there’s a tear that falls between the pages
I know that pain’s supposed to heal in stages
But it depends which one I’m standing on

I write lines down, then rip them up
Describing love can’t be this tough

I could set this song on fire, send it up in smoke
I could throw it in the river and watch it sink in slowly
Tie the pages to a plane and send it to the moon
Play it for the world, but it won’t mean much
Unless I sing this song to you

I’m dying to show you
This could end happily ever after
There doesn’t ever have to be disaster
And all you have to do is sing along

I write lines down, then rip them up
Impossible describing love

I could set this song on fire, send it up in smoke
I could throw it in the river and watch it sink in slowly
Tie the pages to a plane and send it to the moon
Play it for the world, but it won’t mean much
Unless I sing this song to you

I could set this song on fire
Sing this song to you
I could set this song on fire

Light this old guitar on fire, I’d still hear the notes
Drown the melody in water, I’d still hear its ghost
Sing it with somebody else, but we’d be out of tune
Play it for the world, but it won’t mean much

I could set this song on fire, send it up in smoke
I could throw it in the river and watch it sink in slowly
Tie the pages to a plane and send it to the moon
Play it for the world, but it won’t mean much
Unless I sing this song to you

I could set this song on fire
Unless I sing this song to you
I could set this, I could set this
I want to sing this song to you
I could set this song on fire
Sing this song to you
I could set this, I could set this
